For Spring Season the player registration fees are $85 for all players, not including uniforms or $3.00 per transaction fee.
Our goal is to make soccer accessible for all so if anyone is having difficulties paying, they should contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected]

What age group is my child?
All players register in the year they were born in.  AGE CHART see below.

When do sign-ups begin? Fall season registration will be open May 15th. Returning players from the 2024 Spring Season have until June 30th to register to be placed back on the same team. All other requests will be based on registration date.
Spring Season - registration opens Jan 15th, returning players must be registered by Feb 28th for returning team placement.

When do practices start? Practice times and start dates vary depending on your team. Most teams will begin practicing mid/late March/August. Most teams practice twice per week. Fall - mid/late August, Spring - mid/late March.

When are games? Fall season games will be on Friday evenings, or during the day on Saturdays. Games start the Saturday after Labor Day, end first week of November. Spring Season - after spring break, end second week of June.

How do I register? For accuracy of player information, we offer on-line registration. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been received and posted to your account, and we have verified that we have received a state issued birth certificate or current passport to prove date of birth. Registration is initiated online. Please click on the Registration link  to get started once registration is open.

I changed my mind; can I get a refund? Yes, as long as you request a refund on or before Fall-June 30th Spring-February 28th. Exception: doctor’s note stating player cannot play for the season or if you have moved out of the area. There is a $10 service fee for all refunds.

When will I know what team, my child is on? We start forming teams in July (Fall) and will have rosters to coaches mid-July, if you do not hear from a coach by August 1, please contact Rachelle; March (Spring) and will have rosters to coaches mid-March. If you do not hear from a coach by March 31st, contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected]

Where do I buy the uniform? All uniforms are purchased through the club during your online registration process.
U5-U8 t-shirts are included in registration cost.
U9 + older - $50 for full kit, includes socks, shorts and 2 jerseys (black + green)

Is my child old enough to play soccer? For the fall season, if your child was born in the 2020 year, he/she is eligible to play see age chart below.

If I played for Vancouver West Soccer Club prior to this year, must I turn in my birth certificate? You must upload a state issued birth certificate or passport when you register for soccer.  As long as you submitted one recently you may not need to again. If you are not sure, please contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected] to verify if a birth certificate is needed.

Will you accept a hospital issued birth certificate? No, Washington State Youth Soccer (WYS) requires all players to submit a state issued certificate of live birth or current passport in order to be assigned to a team. Hospital certificates are NOT accepted.

Does my child have to try-out? Tryouts are not part of the recreational soccer program. Try-outs are held for players aged 9 and older wishing to play at an advanced level of competition. These teams are Advanced Competition teams and only play other Advanced Competition teams. All other teams are recreational teams, players are assigned based on last year's team, team request, and sign-up date.

Can my child keep the same coach he/she had last year? We encourage all players to register as soon as possible so we can try and honor team and coach requests. There are no guarantees - but players who register by June 30th (fall), Feb 28th (spring) typically are granted their request.

Who do I contact if I need additional answers? Contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected] if you have more questions.

Vancouver West uniform and gear information

Thanks go to the people and businesses that have given us donations….particularly Dick’s Sporting Goods and Finity (a preventive health care business) and anonymous donors. They have provided things like pop up canopy tents, balls, shin guards, water bottles, cones, pinnies, ball pumps and first aid kits. We are very appreciative of their help! We have also received donated cleats from NW Soccer Locker. Right now we only have sizes 10.5 and above, but check in with Julie Genz to see if we have any used sizes (we frequently have some very small sizes on hand, like sizes 1 or 2).

It is a strong value of our club that all of the players look alike on the field. Consequently, we do not allow sponsorship on uniforms or tee shirts. No logos other than VWSC are allowed. No other jerseys are allowed. If teams are fortunate enough to have sponsors, items (e.g scarves, back packs, sweats, etc.) provided by the sponsors are not allowed on the field of play (sidelines are OK). If extra items are provided, they must be provided to ALL of the players on a team.

Please note that NO BLING is allowed on tee shirts or uniforms. Do not add names, numbers, sparkles or anything else on the shirts. Replacement shirts will need to be purchased by families if this happens.

Teams get to decided what socks they want to wear. All the players on a team must wear the same socks. Socks are provided in the kits for the U9 and above teams. Additional socks can be purchased for $7.50 (including tax). Teams are not required to wear the VWSC socks.

Tee shirts for soccer teams U5-U8

Teams ages U5-U8 are provided tee shirts as team uniforms. Each team gets a different color, and we try to rotate the colors each season. Tee shirt fees are included in registration fees. Coaches will get the tee shirts for the team before the season begins, and will distribute them to the players. We ask that kids try the shirts on asap so we can make any needed size adjustments.

Families need to provide BLACK soccer shorts (NO POCKETS), shin guards and socks for their players. Each player should bring a soccer ball to practice (check with your coach about what size is appropriate for the age of your player).

Kits for U9 and above

Uniform kits for these players consist of a home jersey (black), away jersey (lime), a pair of shorts and a pair of socks. Kits are typically ordered at the time of registration, but can be ordered at anytime by contacting me. Kits must be paid for in advance. Players must wear the current style of jersey (which comes from our vendor GearFC). We always have an amazing number of parents who for some reason do not believe their player needs a kit, but they do! Number requests are accepted but not guaranteed. It is not always possible to honor these requests. Please know I do the best I can.

Currently kits cost $50 (including tax). Different parts of the kit (e.g. jerseys, shorts, socks) may be purchased separately as needed. If people order the wrong size, everything can be exchanged as long as the tags are still on. If a player needs, for example a different sizes for different parts of the kits (say a YM jersey but YL shorts) that can be accommodated. Extra shorts and socks can be purchased directly from our vendor, or you can contact me. The contact for the vendor is:

You may also purchase fan gear from them. Jerseys must be purchased from me directly after the initial orders from registration are processed. Payment must be cash, checks (made out the Vancouver West Soccer Club) or card after contacting our Registrar Rachelle Beatty.

Ordered kits will be given to coaches to distribute to the players on their team. Players need to provided a ball and wear shin guards on their own. Kits come in sizes YM, YL, YXL, AS, AM, AL and AXL. There is no YS. Jerseys are European Style, which means they run a bit on the narrow size. YXL and AS jerseys are the same width, with AS being a bit longer.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for being an important part of the Vancouver West Soccer Club!
