Have questions about our  program? Here are some common inquiries answered to help you get started on your soccer journey.

  • How much does it cost to play?

    For the Fall season, player registration fees are $95 or $105, excluding uniform costs and transaction fees.

  • What age group is my child?

    Players must register based on their birth year. See the AGE CHART below for details.



  • When do sign-ups begin?

    Season Registration Dates

    - Fall Season: Registration opens May 15th.

    - Returning players from the Spring 2025 season must register by June 30th to secure placement on their previous team.

    - All other requests will be considered based on registration date and team availability.

    - Spring Season: Registration opens January 15th.

    - Returning players must register by February 28th to remain on their previous team.


  • When do practices start?

    Practice Schedule

    - Practice times and start dates vary by team.

    - Most teams practice twice per week.


    Season Start Dates:

    - Fall: Mid to late August

    - Spring: Mid to late March




  • When are games?

    Season Schedule

    - Fall Season: Games will be held Friday evenings or Saturday during the day. The season begins the Saturday after Labor Day and concludes in the first week of November.

    - Spring Season: Games start after spring break and wrap up by the second week of June.




  • How do I register?


    To maintain accurate player records, we provide online registration. Registration is only complete once:

    - Payment has been received and applied to your account

    - A state-issued birth certificate or current passport has been verified to confirm the player's date of birth

  • Does my child have to try-out?

    Tryouts are not required for the recreational soccer program.

    - Advanced Competition Teams: Players ages 9 and older can participate in tryouts if they wish to compete at a higher level. These teams exclusively face other Advanced Competition teams in competitive matches.

    - Recreational Teams: No tryouts needed! Players are placed based on their previous team, team requests, and registration date.


  • Can my child keep the same coach he/she had last year?

    To help accommodate team and coach requests, we encourage all players to register as early as possible. While requests are not guaranteed, players who register by June 30th (Fall season) or February 28th (Spring season) are more likely to have their preferences fulfilled.



  • I changed my mind; can I get a refund?

    Yes, refunds are available if requested on or before:

    - Fall Season: June 30th

    - Spring Season: February 28th

    Exceptions: Refunds may also be granted with a doctor’s note confirming the player is unable to participate for the season or if the family has moved out of the area.

    Please note there is a $10 service fee for all refunds.


  • When will I know what team, my child is on?

    Team Formation & Coach Communication

    - Fall Season: Teams begin forming in July, and rosters are provided to coaches by mid-July. If you haven’t heard from a coach by August 1, please contact Rachelle Beatty at vancouverwestsc@gmail.com.

    - Spring Season: Teams begin forming in March, with rosters sent to coaches by mid-March. If you haven’t received coach communication by March 31, reach out to Rachelle Beatty for assistance.


  • Where do I buy the uniform?

    Uniform Information

    - U5-U8: A club-provided T-shirt is included in the registration cost.

    - U9 & Older: A full uniform kit is available for $70, which includes socks, shorts, and two jerseys (black & green).

    All uniforms are purchased through the club during the online registration process.


  • Is my child old enough to play soccer?

    For the Fall season, children born in 2007-2021 are eligible to play. See the age chart below for details.


  • If I played for Vancouver West Soccer Club prior to this year, must I turn in my birth certificate?

    When registering for soccer, you must upload a state-issued birth certificate or passport.

    If you’ve submitted one recently, you may not need to upload it again. If you're unsure, please contact Rachelle Beatty at vancouverwestsc@gmail.com to verify whether a birth certificate is required.


  • Will you accept a hospital issued birth certificate?

    Washington State Youth Soccer (WYS) requires all players to submit a state-issued certificate of live birth or a current passport to be assigned to a team. Hospital-issued birth certificates are NOT accepted.

  • What age groups do you cater to?

    We offer programs for children aged 4 to 18, ensuring that every young player has the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
  • How are the age groups structured?

    Our age groups are structured to provide age-appropriate training, all players register in the year they were born in. This allows players to develop their skills alongside peers of similar ages.

  • Can my child move up an age group?

    Yes! If your child demonstrates advanced skills and readiness, we can discuss options for them to participate in an older age group.
  • What if my child is new to soccer?

    No problem! We welcome beginners in all age groups. Our coaches are dedicated to helping new players feel comfortable and excited about learning the game.
  • How do I register my child?

    Registration is easy! Simply visit our registration page, select the appropriate age group, and fill out the necessary information.
