Welcome to Vancouver West Soccer Club! We're glad you and your player are joining our club. Here are some basic questions we receive from parents.

When do sign-ups begin?
Fall season registration will be open May 15, 2021. Registration deadline June 30, 2021 . We encourage all players to register as soon as possible so we can try and honor team and coach requests. There are no guarantees – but returning players who register by the returning player deadline typically are granted their request. All other requests will be based on registration date.
I've registered my son/Daughter. What happens next?
If you've registered and paid on-line via credit card, your child will be assigned to a team when our club registrar starts creating teams beginning of August. PLEASE NOTE: If you've registered but elected to pay by check, we will not assign your player to a team roster until we receive your payment. We obviously encourage you to pay promptly. Once your child is assigned to a team, we will deliver a copy of that team's roster to the coach at our Coach Meeting the third week of July. Coaches then make contact with families and typically organize practices to start the first week of August.
When does the regular season start?
Practice times and start dates vary depending on your team. Due to the Covid-19 the logistics of how this will look/work are still being ironed out
Where are games played?
Your player's coach will inform you of game location(s) and the season schedule. Generally, we use Lincoln Elementary, VSAA, Jason Lee, and Luke Jensen. Although playing away games can take you as far as East as Camas and North as Longview.
How do I register?
For accuracy of player information, we offer on-line registration. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been received and posted to your account, and we have verified that we have received a state issued birth certificate or current passport to prove date of birth, as well as a current profile photo. Registration is initiated online. Please click on the Registration info to find the link to register to get started once registration is open.
I changed my mind, can I get a refund?
Yes, as long as you request a refund before August 1, 2021. Exception: doctor's note stating player cannot play for the season or if you have moved out of the area. There is a $10 service fee for all refunds.
When will I know what team my child is on?
We start forming teams in July, and will have rosters to coaches end of July. If you do not hear from a coach by Mid August, contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected]
Where do I buy the uniform?
All uniforms are purchased through the club during your online registration process, U9 and above are required to purchase a uniform kit.
Is my child old enough to play soccer?
For the Fall season, the player must turn four years old on or before December 31, 2021.
If I played for Vancouver West Soccer Club prior to this year must I turn in my birth certificate?
As long as you submitted a birth certificate during the spring 2021 season, you will not need to supply one. If you are not sure, please contact Rachelle Beatty at [email protected] to verify if a birth certificate is needed.
Will you accept a hospital issued birth certificate?
No, Washington State Youth Soccer (WYS) requires all players to submit a state issued certificate of live birth or current passport in order to be assigned to a team. Hospital certificates are NOT accepted.
Does my child have to try-out?
Tryouts are not part of the recreational soccer program. Try-outs are held for players age 9 and older wishing to play at an advanced level of competition. These teams are Advanced Competition teams and only play other Advanced Competition teams. All other teams are recreational teams, players are assigned based on last year's team, team request, and sign-up date.
Can my child keep the same coach he/she had last year?
We encourage all players to register as soon as possible so we can try and honor team and coach requests. There are no guarantees - but players who register by June 30th typically are granted their request.
